Fishing in Staffordshire/cheshire border area!

Walnut Tree Pool (the one on the right of the farm buildings at Walnut Tree Farm) should guarantee you some carp (average 4-5lb, but plenty of doubles in there too).

Fish tight into the margin reeds with a small piece of meat on a size 14-16 hook (especially as it starts to get dark). I don't do (or know anything about) pole fishing, but I have seen more than one broken on that pool - even the small carp go like trains. If you can fish a running line, I'd definitely do so (unless you have a *very* strong pole)!

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

From Oakhanger, head towards Alsager and turn right at the Radway Green lights. The entrance to Walnut Tree Farm is on the right immediately after you cross over the motorway. Paul, the farmer, is very reasonable about charges and he'll probably charge you less than the £5 day ticket if you arrive after 3pm. (But maybe not on your first visit - he's got a very good memory for repeat visitors).

The first pool down the drive on your right is Marl Pool (very small). The car park is in front of the farm buildings. Specimen Pool to your left, Walnut Tree Pool to your right.

Home Farm can be good but more expensive (£6 for one rod on the Match Pool, £8 for two on the Specimen Pool).

Never fished Marl Pool - some say there's carp in there, some say it's silvers only...
