Small tench & bloodworm

I have a small tench in my coldwater tank. He's in there because hes a bit slim and needs fattening up. I don't think he would last the spring viruses in the pond.

I was wondering what to feed a small tench. Maggots are too big (hes about 4"long).

I netted a bloodworm from my pond the other day by mistake. If there are more in there how do i get at them? The small tench will feed on bloodworm won't he?

Cheers

Yes, he'd eat bloodworm. I've found the best place to find small quantities of bloodworm is inside the pond filter box - the mud and filter pads are often full of them. You could also try squatts rather than maggots, but best of all would probably be some small sinking pellets of some kind - my tench love the small sinking pellets that are sold as sturgeon food.
