Website Design

Hi Dragonbat,

Depends on the site and the amount of information contained within it... as long as you have some easy means of navigation on each page ie.. not just page forward and/or page back but use "breadcrumbs" to enable the readers of the site to get to where they want to go easily it's not too much of a problem....

My own personal preference is to use frames, but if you're designing (or re-designing) a site you must remember that there are still many people out there using browsers that will not support frames therfore some provision has to be made for this within your design...

Simon..

Dragonbat - I agree /w Simon and usually prefer frames - if the content lends itself to them and the page(s) are well done. Otherwise, they allow for making a really horrible site.

Code needs to be done like hedgehogs make love - very carefully.

Pet hate - sites where the stationary frame takes up most of the page and the inside frames are tiny. Make the permanent part small!

i use iframes, they are great but as has already been said, you have to be carefull, my site also resises to any screen res, this is great as the text regroups, but pics and animations dont, so things can get a bit jumbled viewing in anything lower than 1024x768.

what are you aiming to do dragonbat.

you wont like my site then david :D:D:D:D

click the link below dragon, and see what you think then change your screen res to see what i mean.

Nope, yours is OK (if you discount the fact that it doesn't work in Netscape :D ), but I've come across a couple where the working window is about 25% of the screen and it's a pain in the but because you're continually scrolling!
