Logging In Problems - Tech Help

Elton

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help here? I've had a fair number of people with problems logging in due to their browsers not accepting cookies.

Is there a way of accepting cookies from selected sites, without turning your security settings down?

Cheers,

I delete the cookies after each session, that way I can browse without any problem, although the PC wont remember my password etc so I have to key it in each session but thats no hassle. I let my firewall deal with the iffy stuff!

Yes you can, but you have to lower your privacy level,go on line to AN and log in,have a look at one of the forums and then log off. Reset your privacy setting back as it was and the cookies from AN should be installed.

Well that's what I did anyway,

Den

Anyone using IE6 can set to accept cookies relating to a site (1st party cookies & session cookies) but to reject all other cookies the site tries to place on their computer (3rd party).

And I would strongly suggest they get a copy of Ad-aware (free app and will remove all existing or future "spyware" cookies, etc.) from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/aaw.html .

Hiya Elton,

if you remember when the "look" of the forum was changed I had major problem`s with logging on.You suggested to me that it was a possible problem with cookie`s. I can`t remember the date, but if you look at the reply that I sent

to the forum I said how I had got round it,I`ll look through the earlier posting`s that I have made and will reiterate it,if that will help anyone.

P.S. it`s to everyone not just Elton.
