computer graphics genius needed

i need help ,i have been photo-graphing magazine adverts from the 50`s and 60`s the trouble is the pages they are on have yellowed with age ,as there are drawings and diagrams i cannot use an o.c.r. software to grab the text,is there a way to grab text and drawings so that i can replace the background.

the reason i need to do this is if i print the picture the printer tries to also print the yellowy background if i just try and print using greyscale the it prints grey instead of yellow.

paintshop pro has plenty of tools to age artwork but nothing to unage it.

any suggestions?

one way would be to set the cols to two cols, black and white, this wat psp will only see the black.

have tried that the program cant seem to be clever enough to know what black is (after all is it dark black or light black) if there was a way of pointing to the black and saying?? to the program grab everything "this " colour it would be easy.

sorry about size of file,the camera is set at 1M on a fuji4800z so how it got to 5mb i have no idea ,if i set it to 640 by 480 it doesnt show fine print

typical lost my connection half way through will turn off virus scan to speed it up :mad:
