I found this article in our local paper.... I have written it EXACTLY as reported...

 

"Free smoke alarms are set to be installed on a Nuneaton estate in an attempt to reduce the risk of deaths and injuries from fires.

 

Firefighters behind the campaign have launched an appeal to win funding for the scheme in Camp Hill.

 

Officers from Nuneaton's fire station have set up the Challenge Camp Hill Smoke Detector Campaign. The estate has been identified as an 'in need' area and could be the first to take part in the scheme, in which 1,055 smoke detectors would be installed in about 2,800 homes."

Is it just me.... or would it make more sense to fit 1,055 smoke detectors in about 1,055 homes!!!

More like 2800 in 1055 homes.

Right Newt - we have three. Money well spent.

 

If anyone hasn't installed these, go out and buy some first thing tomorrow morning - they may save your life, and meanwhile are great at reminding you that your grilled steak is ready
