Craynerd, the fishing season is sancrosanct to many of us, but we do have a good old English compromise. Perhaps one that we can leave as it is. It has been discussed ad nauseum, even more than the Countryside Alliance! Have a look under 'search'! Back to the compromise, you can fish many still waters throughout the year, you can fish for trout, you can fish for sea-fish, you can almost certainly fish for carp. It just means leaving the rivers alone until June 16th. Just means being a bit of an all-rounder!
