Hi I have been fishing the inline method feeder with pellets instead of groundbait. But I have a problem I fish a quite a small lake in lincoln with a sunken island with reeds on. I fish tight to the reeds and my quiver is always moving knocks all the time, iv waited for something bigger and my rod will whip round and nothing! I have been there 3 times trying to get a fish but with only 2 fish in about 20 hours and having pretty much constant bites, im just wondering what I am doing wrong?

Hi and welcome to Anglers' Net.

What size hook and what breaking strength line?

Have you tried fishing a float and feeding some other way?

Scar,

Something wrong with your rig - 100%. First thing I'd try is NO FEEDER. No rule says you have to use a feeder. If they are bumping (bait or feeder) you know they are in the swim. Maybe they'll bump your hookpoint.

What species you reckon are in that puddle? You using a hair? I'm always in favor of a bigger hook and shorter hair and hooklink (hooklength).

Thanks for the welcome I am using 8 pound line and a 6 pound leader with size 12 and 14 hook with 6mm and 8mm pellets with 2mm and 4mm pellets for method feeder that have additives. I just donnno whats happenin iv been recasting every 5mins for first 4 cast to get some bait out there and then casting every 10 - 15 mins there after with no luck so then I just left it out there was still getting loads of knocks but after 30 to 40 mins still no fish.

I am fishing a carp lake with carp rangeing from 1lb to bout 9lb and im not using a hair coz I try to drill my pelletd but they keep breaking so using bands my hooklength is only about 4" and my feeder is fixed with a swivel so if a carp takes it I thought it would hook itself.

Thanks for the reply

A bit more info on your rig and bait would be useful. Maybe you're suffering the attentions of a lot of smaller fish - do you know what's in there?
