Float fishing for carp

Hi was just wondering what would be the best set up to float fish for carp in the margins. The carp range from round 10lb to the bigger of 20lb. I have an avon rod of 1.75 tc I wondered if this would be ok. If not what type of rod and line b/s would be best to use and also what float would be best. I was hoping to use main line straight through to the hook, and fish it on the bottom. Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards Al

I'd fish an over depth float rig with a hair rig, or pop up, or a floating bait if you can. probably 8 to 10lb main line. Google over depth float fishing for carp. It is a tried and trusted method.
