With an op on my hand scheduled for this Friday there were a few things I needed to do beforehand.

Trim both hedges, put away the garden funiture, wash and wax the car.

I resisted the temptation to go fishing in the calm and balmy weather of last week and got them done :)

Just as well by the look of it, not much chance of doing outside jobs this week (or enjoying fishing!)

That's the problem.

Low Karin is an offshoot from 'ex'-tropical storm Nadine, bringing an area of moisture laden warm air containing clouds that are 6-7 miles deep, to dance over the UK for a few days. That will give us nearly a month's rain in 24 hours or so!

(ps Nadine has strengthened again off the Azores and has returned to tropical storm status and is threatening to strengthen even more to become a hurricane)

Keep an eye on flood-warnings for your area -

The rain isn't being nice here.

It was raining last night when i went to sleep.

This morning when I look out the window the rain is travelling sideways past the window.

My few hours fishing this morning was cancelled for obvious reasons!

At least I have plenty of bait ready for my next session :)

Can I have your bank account number and sort code please?

The area of heavy rain has cleared Kent, still high winds though (force 10 through the Straits of Dover, should liven up the fishing from the Southern beaches).

Don't like the look of the rain forecast up in Newcastle where my daughter and her family now live, overnight and tomorrow.

Here heavy thundery showers tomorrow, at least until the low pressure swings south again, going down the west coast and dropping more rain on the South-West, before coming back this way again I guess.

Interesting weather system though :)
