Double click on the NAV icon (bottom right)

Go to Reports.

Quarantined Items.

Click on the View Report button.

Select the file to delete.

PRESS DELETE

Works every time!!

A clever trick of the virus.

It has a number of strategies to tempt you into opening the attachment!

The sender's address is forged from an address contained on the infected machine, and the recipient is also chosen at random.

So you may find yourself accused of sending the virus when you are in fact clean!

chesters 1 - when the critters are in the quarantine folder they are harmless. And pretty small.

You can clear the contents of that folder whenever you wish but it doesn't hurt anything to have the stuff sitting there.

I take it you are using Outlook Express.

Turn off the preview pane.

In case a new virus with similar tactics comes out before you have had a chance to do a Norton update, every time you get an Email with an attachment from anybody, first right click to have look at the properties before opening it. If the return path is different from the 'from' address you may, but not allways, have a problem!!

My return address, for example, is set to something different from my sending address.

A friend of mine got an infected Email from someone unknown to him in Australia. Both of them were in my address book. I had been infected within 2 days of the virus being new and before Norton had brought out an update to detect it.
