Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Have you tried using irfanview (iview) for the job? It deals well with most picture formats and won't cost you anything to try it.

All you will need to do is open the pic with iview and the do a "save as" and select the picture format you want. It does the conversion quickly and cleanly.

I have not tried that specific sort of pic so can't say for sure.

Download a copy for free from Here

A suggestion though. If you are going to be doing work with the pic after the conversion, save if first as a .tif and do your work. Then save the finished product as a .jpg.

Jpeg is what is known as a Lossy format which means you will lose some detail each time you modify the pic. No way around it since the format is designed that way.

Tif is a Lossless format so no loss of detail. But the pics are larger than jpegs - thus the suggestion to do the final conversion to jpeg.

If you have a simple pic - cartoon for instance - with only 4 or less colours, gif is good as well. Lossless which is nice but also small files if you aren't dealing with a huge number of colours.
