I need someone who knows Outboard engines to give me a bit of help please!! I will pay handsomely if required!!

I have been offered a Mercury 65hp and a mercury 50hp. The 65 turns over and seems all ok. the 50 is minus the bottom half of the motor/prop. The rest lying on a rocky beach somewhere!! The problem is this, the guy who is selling the engine says that he has been told that the 50 will mate up to the 65! Do you think this possible??

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))
