Roy's back - with news

Well at least some of you may remember this old timer....Hi to all my old friends at AN and hi also to all the new guys.

Been off the river and the site for some time due to the "old trouble" (no, not the Mrs.) Dunno if anyone's interested, but I've bought myself a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 just for fun. Oh well you only live once and my consultant said it's probably a good idea provided I never, ever, ever fall off the thing, so thats good enough for me.

(Actually he said something about, "over my dead body" or summat)whatever....

Anyway having taken this step, I've now gotten involved in a charity motorcycle ride (on Enfield) across southern India in February. This in aid of 4 charities. If interested visit the site www.enduroindia.com

If anyone wants to throw 50p at me, you will be more than welcome. I know the thing's gonna be a struggle, but I dont want to get to my dotage and end up saying, "I wish I'd done....." So going for it big stylee.

I see a few of the old names still here...

Trogg, the shed's still standing and we're slowly getting the fridge and larder refilled....

Great old bike!! i am thinking of getting a GS and touring with the mrs next year,but my kwacker will probably only fetch £4000 so need a bit more cash yet.

I wish you the best of luck in India,what a great idea and for such good reasons too

No Chesters, it's a new one, Indian Built & as yet, not a drop spilt. I know they were once known as Royal Oilfields though...

Glad to see there's another classic Brit bike enthusiast on this forum. I have a 69 BSA Rocket 3, A 64 BSA Lighting/Rocket, A 68 BSA Royal Star, a 69 BSA Starfire and a 75 Triumph Trident gathering dust in my garage. I haven't had time to work on them yet, but, one of these days.....

I saw a load of classics yesterday & i'm bound to see a few more today cos the classic bike show is on at Stafford county showground & being the first fuel station off the M6 they all pull in for directions & fuel. (god i love my job )
