Upside down fish!

Recently over the hot weather period I’ve noticed groups of small fish, (Roach or Bream) hanging head down in the top layers of water. They don't seem stressed or in discomfort, more of a plaything or socialising, (hanging out together). Any thoughts on the reason why or purpose?

It's something I've seen a few times with roach Rob, and I think we discussed it on here a while back. Hanging in the water angled nose down.

If I remember right, a common factor to most of the sightings, was the presence of pike. I don't know if it was coincidence, but on a couple of the times that I've seen it, the fish were all facing the same way, towards the pike.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
