Connection failed (again)

If I log on to Outlook Express or internet at peak times (I have an 'anytime' account with wanadoo), the connection keeps failing. If, on the other hand, I'm connected after 11pm, it rarely happens. Is this a technical fault, or are wanadoo playing silly beggars?

"Is this a technical fault"

Yes but at their end most likely so I would raise merry hell with them.

If they can't solve it for you post back with specifics about your connection (PC OS version, type of connection so broadband or dial-up, if broadband then type of network connection, brand of modem, etc.) and we can work up a way to test for what might be the cause so you can get back with them and make them fix it.

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

I've signed up for broadband, with Wanadoo because then I keep my e-mail address and all passwords. It came onstream today: I'm impressed so far. The only problem is that my PC doesn't have enough ports, so I've had to disconnect the digital camera cradle to plug the new modem in. Of course, this problem would be solved if I bought a new all-in-one printer/scanner! What do you think?

If it's USB connections just buy yourself a relatively cheap USB Hub and you can plug multiple peripherals into the single connection. Just be carefull with power sources i.e. if they have their own power you will be o.k. i.e. printers but things like mice etc. will need to share power via the Hub.

Next problem: I'm getting pop-up ads for casinos etc., that I used to get a couple of years ago on the dial-up. Trouble is, I've forgotten how I got rid of them then! Whatever you recommend, it has to be FREE! I've forked out enough on the broadband already...
