the knot to the mainline is definately the weakest link. most use the uniknot (sometimes known as the grinner). easy to tie. A better knot and one which has never failed me is the centaur. Very difficult due to the loops and passing the line back through. I have invented a tool to tie a centaur in about 20 secs, but don't know how to demonstrate on these pages. Get in some knot practice leeds, at the end of the day it's fun anyway!
