Mozilla Firefox update????

This red circle/white arrow has appeared on my

Mozilla tool bar (top right corner) says its

for critical updates, i'v clicked on it left

it for half an hour and its updated/downloaded nothing.

whats that all about????

Worked fine here n4ally, the download is the new version of Firefox 1.01

easy way 2 solve ya prob, uninstall mozilla from control panel - add remove programs - then using internet explorer "YUK" visit mozilla.org & download new version. hope this helps

Worked OK at my end,after jumping thro' several hoops and closing down all other progs ----- thanks for pointing it out N4LLY--- it doesn't exactly stand out and shout !

I was clicking on the red spot icon,

should have clicked the go to firefox icon

next to it.

Seem to download and install ok, but the

red spot icon is still there, has it remained on

yours??

The icon remaing is a bug, at least it was in earlier versions.

Yes its Legit. Didn't anyone question it before downloading it?

 

One of the main causes of virus' is people not question what thier pc asks them to do. Ive been caught out many times before. A little box pops up and says press here, the next thing you know your pc is in flames.

Well...no, seeing as the critical update notification thing is a default part of the browser so should pretty much be safe i.e. its not a random popup.
