kayak insurance

does anybody insure their kayak ? and if so how much does it cost.

I will be keeping mine at work so a bit worried of theft or damage

Kayaks may be covered on a Home and Contents insurance policy - best to check the small print if you have one.

Try phoning some of the marine insurers in the back of BOAT MART - if not the British canoe Union might have an insurance scheme run by a broker - Armada do most of the small angling clubs boats schemes and the CMBA one (classic Motor Boats) so they would be worth trying as a first port of call. Armada can be phoned on

You should be able to get your fishing tackle and kayak on your contents insurance, just upgraded mine to include them.

just got of phone with direct line to put kayak on my contents insurance , happy to put on contents but wont cover it at all.on phone for 20 minutes to find a completly meaningless fact
