Congratulations to Alnath on winning this months competition with an excellent shot. Birds in flight are very difficult to photograph, but Alnath has done an great job here. Well exposed, and pin sharp. A very worthy winner !

A very well captured shot, with relatively slim depth of field, but nailed the focus on the eye and the dof really draws your eyes to this beautiful creature's head. Worthy of a twitchers magazine.

 

Rob Stubbs – Paragliding

A dramatic scene, capturing the beauty of the area, the height and the fun the paraglider must have been having skimming through the shafts of sunlight coming through the clouds.

SW – I think I'm lost

Again, depth of focus is very shallow and isolated one flower amongst many. A great technique when there is a mass of colour and I like the fact that the subject matter is off centre. It seems like a sad little daisy!

I'm a sucker for black and white. Given that it is a sunset picture, use of B&W has brought a great deal of moodiness to the scene and a great use of the rule of thirds with clouds and sea/land. Lovely composition.

Beautifully exposed, clever use of lighting and so sharp, you could cut yourself on the little guy's whiskers. You get a sense of emotion from the eyes. Top drawer stuff.

Congrats Alnath. Tis a great shot indeed. Look at those claws! It looks like something is about to draw its last breath. I'm stoked to have got runner up. Its been a little hard coming up with pics of late and the standard is creeping higher and higher but its great fun. Well done to everyone once again.

I was lucky with the Kestrel i have to say, i have never seen a wild bird pose so much for a camera in my life!
