Why Do Kids Always Do This?

well plan A was off......

me, snatcher, and young snatcher(Chris) were due out with ian burrett this morning but we cancelled due to forcasted weather and winds................

they were right and it would have been a drenching and very lumpy.

PLAN B

got up sharp and was digging bait by 07:10 rag and lug hmmmmmmm!

met up with the snatcher squad pm went to the flat rock area via ian burrett's thanks for the tea christine.....

SNATCHER YOU MUST LEARN TO WIPE YOUR FEET MATE

the fishing commenced at approx 1.45pm just on HW weather had become clamer and clear skys :D:D

set my own rod first and cast out a floated rag for any pollack

snatcher let leash with his beachcaster and his 535 that i had bomb proofed for him (NICE CHUCKIN' MATE AND NOT A NEST IN SIGHT)

Young snatcher was spinning.......

set up the little tacks with light gear , spinning rods two hook traces and small weights combo of rag and lug

guess what..........................................?

yup

"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD" screamed Caitlin(misstack4) " I'm in"

result her first wrasse

c1w.jpg

when is it going to be me to catch first??????????

after unhooking it Caitlin gave it the Rex Hunt treatment and was sent back to fight again

a short lull......

"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD" Kyle chips in "fish on"

result wrasse no 2 of the day

kylewrasse2.jpg

again back to fight again

meanwhile i had snagged retreived with bent hook and no bait left

snatcher the odd knock but no takes

young snatcher pleny snags some lost gear and a few tabs smoked

"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD" misstack4 has such a delicate voice  "Fish On"

"this is getting serious" says snatcher "were all getting out fished by the kids"

this rubbed salt into some open wounds

Caitlin with 2 Wrasse the larger being just on the 1lb mark

ivegot2.jpg

I changed tactics again and landed a small wrasse my self but the photo was duff and kyle refused to get my face in shot.......

duff.jpg

no more fish were caught, some more end tackle lost by the "Experienced Fishermen" until we called it a day

the fishing had finished time for one more photo

......................... caitlin.......................chris......................kyle...................

.and snatcher

Aim was to head back to Snatchers caravan and tie some lures but on arrival there had been a power cut

hastily made up some of my new headlights left them at 5.20pm with two candles, two torches, two fishing headlights and a fridge with warming beer

got a text to say power was back but no metion if any beer left :D:D

Andrew,

Sounds like a fun day (well for the kids anyway  ). the kids faces say it all... haha, we're doing better than the old uns :D:rolleyes::P

At least you are getting wrasse, I'm still after my first one.

Oh, and I doubt Snatcher would let the beer get to warm :D

Good report, keep them coming

I've been to Scrabster... and I want to go back!!!

I remember years ago, dad and I were fishing with an 8 year old cousin of mine who had never been fishing before, at Seasalter, a shallow muddy beach on the North Kent coast.

We were belting our baits out to the horizon and waiting for flatties and eels.

Meanwhile young stephen, bored with inaction, insisted on reeling in frequently, and trying to cast himself, with the inevitable 2 yard plonk.

But he was reeling in fish from almost at his feet, whilst we were getting barely a bite.

Lesson, don't cast over and past the fish, but into them!

Sometimes you need kids to teach you the fundamentals!
