hi all , had a wee days fishin planned for etive with captain norrie for today, crew was myself, peterthefisherman and as before mentioned norrie !
set off from norries at about 6.30am nice fresh an frosty morn it was ! after an uneventfull drive up towing the boat we arrived at taynuilt slip, we were quite surprised to see the loch flat calm , we were very dubious after seeing the weather reports from the night before ,but on getting out the car we found it was pretty breezy ! but we got the boat ready and launched pretty easily
we tied up to a bhoy for our first mark with peter getting into the oll chineese fish straight away , closely followed by yours truely, then peter had a spur of a couple of pounds followed by me and then norrie getting in on the action with probably the best spur of the day which only went to about 3lb (ha ha we bumped you for your 50p ), this was followed by a succesion of whitting and small spurs with peter picking up about 5 spur all in, my self and norrie a couple with plenty whitting to us all , during this time the wind had really found some strengh and with the boat nose diving into the waves we decided on a move to find a bit of shelter
next mark was another few whitting , but the wind had decided that we were,nt getting away that easy and started to give us a right good few slaps ! so off again ! we found a wee bit of shelter after another couple of moves where we picked up a couple more whitting and a dab for myself
the wind was getting a bit excited in itself by throwing up a couple of crackin water spouts , so we went hidding at our next mark which produced a few more whitting an lsd , an couple small thornies for peter a small thornie for me, more whitting , an with norrie deciding to take advantage of the gently rocking boat an having a snooze , me an peter fished on untill it was just tooo fookin windy ,too hard to stand up, an just not fair because the wind was now throwing stinging rain at us
so we decided to get the boat out the water and head home, we retrieved the boat with as little fuss as possible , and off we went ! got to glen oggle when the snow started and it kept going all the way to falkirk ! motorway was white but still passable , but it never lasted long , it was already melting by the time we left norries , all in the fishing was a bit indifferent today , but the craic , an spicy chicken wings made up for it , big thanks to captain norrie for letting me off lightly with the kelpie jokes , an both peter an norrie for crackin company all day !!
got a couple pics which we,ll get up soon !!
