What's The Plan?

Well chaps and chapesses.

Winter is almost upon us, the weather is getting colder and no doubt the carp will be getting shyer. (Unless you fish on Julians lake!)

What are your plans for the winter months?

Will you still be out in earnest, hunting the carp or do you leave them for the warmer months and for the anglers who have no qualms about freezing cold overnight sessions?

Personally I fancy a stint on the rivers this season in a bid to catch a good sized barbel and chub. I think the chub option looks the most viable cold weather wise but barbel are still willing to be taken in colder conditions.

Here's hoping!

Time permitting; I’m determined to bank a big winter carp from Capesthorne Main Lake, which is dawn till dusk so any free time I get in the day will most likely be spent there. However, I’ll probably keep doing a mid-week overnighter each week on the Top Pool – habit more than anything! Then there’s my surface fishing exploits for carp over winter which should keep me busy.

Carp all the way I guess, though I am looking to take up an invite to fish on Blithfield for some monster pike.

My plan?? just keep carping four or five days a week whatever the weather. The only thing that will stop me will be impassable roads and a freezeup.
