Bit of a bu**er when a stiff onshore South Westerly is blowing.! My bait would end up in Ashford town centre!

 

Another thing, try reeling in 500 yds of line to re-bait every 15 minutes, let alone landing a fish!

My bruv uses them in oz, he also as a balloon attached to he's end gear to suspend he's bait in high to mid water for big mackies/tuna's/ and sharks etc........

I bet the 8oz whiting would without doubt be the first fish on the bait

 

I get creased winding in a reasonable cast let alone 300 to 500 yards of line, would need one of those powered reels for that game.
