What makes you think its a copy of a swallow? Isn't it just a basic pin with holes in the front plate, some big enough to stick a finger in. Many pins like that and i wouldn't think there is that many different ways of doing it.

 

 

It's probably not a copy of a swallow Brian but as PW had been looking at them he may well have based his on them...it does look very similar to me.

its more that its a Stanton clone (as was the swallow) .

It reminds me of the reels we ended up with as kids. I was convinced that it was the reason why I caught very little. So, nothing has changed there then! Now I realise that number of fish caught is affected by the money put into the tackle.

I expect with that reel and this rod I would be rushed off my feet.
