giant crabs are they on our doorsteps?

a while back national geographic did a documentary on these giant crabs and they were very close to mainland norway. does anybody know how far they have progressed since then or was it just scaremongering. see link

I don't but have read a report on this. Guess it would make a great peeler bait. We also have mitten crabs from China which are destroying lots of the river banks. Also signal crayfish. I wouldn't think it is scare mongering, but I'll just have a look outside the front of the house in case.

King Crabs need extremely cold water.

 

Maybe when the Gulf Stream fails ............

They are down as far as the Lofoten but not really common there. There are a lot around the North Cape. That's a crabs leg that’s worth bothering with.
