Hello to all & a question

For all my rigs - I don't need many traces yet! I use pipe lagging, with a pin through the swivel to prevent tangling, and slide that inside a length of plastic plumbing pipe for protection.

As I can safely get more than 10 rigs in a tube, I won't need more that that in a bag for any session.

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine

I only carry a couple of made up rigs with me. But I do carry all the neccesary bits & bobs to make them up as I need them. That way, I can make up the exact right size/length (distance between the hooks) trace, to suit whatever deadbait I may take out of the freezer. The hooks come in little boxes and the trace wire on a spool etc. The manufacturers have already invented the best way to store them. I only have to take a pair of cutters and a crimper with me.

I do however carry a small plastic pot with a screw lid, so that any knackered traces can be stored safely, ready to be disposed of.

I think the tackle companies having parted us from our hard earned cash in exchange for loads of shiny tackle, then set out to invent things to put them in, thus parting us from even more cash and having done that, they then invent bigger and better (and more expensive) ways of helping us carry it all. A lot of the bags and boxes that adorn tackle shop walls are clearly ridiculous, particularly those that have become cult 'must haves' I dont wish to pour scorn on other peoples need for rig bins and the like, but they just don't make sense to me. I've never had a problem with zip lock bags and never seen the need for something that increases the size of a stored trace by about twenty times.

Despite my liking of rig bins I know what Gerry is getting at.The last tackle show I went to amazed me,there were custom made bags for every thing from your bed chair to your cooker! When I looked at all of the bags you would need to put into your ruckscak it made me realise why modern anglers need wheel barrows even for a short session.Utterly ridiculous! the trade merely making some thing to buy for the guy who has brought every thing!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
