Just for interest. This is what they look like from the inside. Note the thickness of the body, quite impressed. Just not built to withstand an impact from a Rolls Royce.

COuld start a new thread. 101 uses of a smashed yak!

I havent been idle though and have just finished my anchor set for the new Yarak. Its a development of Richis. The off set handle is made from a 100mm bolt with nylock nut and washers passed through a gill net float. The central handle is a large sea float passed through the spool, split pin one end and a piece of 32mm plumbers pipe epoxied on at the other. I am hoping that this end will fit into one of the flush mounts for storage. Both handles rotate. The idea behind using the floats is that it .........er. floats if it goes overboard or I have to let go in a hurry. The spool is filled with 100m of mouse line from local chandlery. (para chord). The spool was a freebie from same chandlery. Total cost including line £13.

Just want to add I rescued several floats from a net that was mysteriously washed up close to where i was fishing. Shame, suppose that meant it couldnt be used again. They make great scupper bungs. Just remember to fill the hole with sealent :)
