Thought I'd ask here as theres a few other Essex boys about ;-)

Has anyone heard any recent reports for the Roding? I know it suuffered a major pollution a couple of years ago, but does anyone know if there have been any signs of a recovery ?

Just asking as I'm starting to look for a venue for my winter chubbing this year ;-)

Billericay DAS have just taken over a streach at onger to add to the streaches they already have. I am sure that world domination is there eventual aim. getting a bit fed up with them having lots of the good bits of rivers in essex. Apparently it is recovering from its pollution incident of a couple of years ago.

take a look at my blog

I have fished it and used to be a member of what I think was Woodford Angling Society a few years back, they owned the stretch upstream of Passingford bridge to the M25.

As far as I know they use to hold matches there but I never heard of much bieng caught at all.

There is a small road that is on the right as you drive towards Ongar if you know where I mean, anyway I used to fish down stream of that road and did catch Chub, nothing big only up to about 3lb but good fun, thereare some tasty looking swims down there, some of which reminded me of the River Thame.
