another xp sp3 question

A friend has a crap internet connection [west of ireland] can someone tell me, if I download it for him [i have a broadband connection], and save to disk, does it install from the downloaded file without needing to connect to the internet?

you could use administrator option which means any updates can be saved (for use on computers via the network etc)

the option is on the update page

If you download the entire 316MB (and a bit) from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en save it to disc and send it to him he will be fine.
