The salary of the chief executive of a large corporation is not a market award for achievement. It is frequently in the nature of a warm personal gesture by the individual to himself.

Yeah but you can't sing along with Lark Ascending like you can with Hall of the Mountain King. :)

My last mad blast was a mixture of Verdi and Puccini arias played LOUD.

I've also recently aquired a whole bunch of Bach, Haden and Handel which I'm trying to listen to betwen blasts of Audioslave, Megadeath and AC/DC.

I listened to Mozart's Requiem and Stevie Ray Vaughan driving back to Liverpool last night.

On the whole, Mozart get's my vote.

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine

Just got the Magic of Morris 2 (Talking Elephant Music), well it's classical in my book!!!!

Besides all of these classical composers nicked stuff from indigenous folk music.

Bach's Toccata in D minor, the Jacques Loussier version ;)

My son and a mate do some serious busking, the mate on trumpet and Nick on guitar. I have in my head a trad jazz rendition of the Toccata, and I'm trying to work out an arrangement for the lads to play on the street ;) ;)

I've just had a look at the track listing for this, Tony, and noticed a couple of tunes that I play myself but that I've never seen Morris danced to (Off to California and Drowsy Maggie). I'd love to see any side dance at the speed that Drowsy Maggie is usually played! Can you remember off the top of your head what dances these are used for?

p.s. Sorry I couldn't make it for the Sweeps either...

Rapper, they dance up to 180 steps per minute and this sort of jig suits them, (so does Father O'Flynne, Holey Hapenny, the Blackthorn Stick etc.)

Even we sedate londsword dancers sometimes get up to 120 steps per minute.

I couldn't agree more. I love Mozart. His Clarinet Concerto is gorgeous and Ave Verum Corpus has the real tingle factor for me.
