My local small river surprises me again!

Last week I was surprised to catch a small flatty in my local river and this week after a cracking session including several Dace of over a lb, perch up to 1lb 8 oz, numerous Chub up to 2lb and a few small roach, it surprised me yet again with this lovely Trout.

I'd heard tales of Trout existing in this river but I have to admit I didn't think the water quality was good enough to support a fish of such low pollution tolerances. Here's a pic of the little Trout (although the photos don't do its colours justice) and the lovely looking swim it was caught in.

Yeah Andrew, I'm still trying for one of the small Barbel I've heard also inhabit this little river.

Nice pic's mate and a lovely little trout. The river looks in a good nick, not to many shopping trolleys and other rubbish in it (Maybe help by the rain?).

 

I can see why you wanted some waders now, access doesn't look that easy with out getting in the water.

Cheers for that Ian, might take you up on that some time, might be nice to try and prove if there is barbel in there some time.
