Thames Estuary fishing

Recommended Posts

hi all,

went out today fishing in the thames estuary just south of the knox tower.

had 10 thornies to 7lb,1 starry smoothie 5lb, 2 whiting & 2 doggies.

also hadplenty of schoolies on rag & left our skate bait on the side of the berth.

so used live school bass as bait and had the 10 skate on them.

Me and Stoaty would recomend it.

Flat calm outside the river today.

Matt & Stoaty

Matt there is an inaccuracy in your first post.

It was the Knock John Tower.

I knew I shouldn't have told him the Gillingham / Blackpool Game was cancelled and there was no need to listen to it.

What a stupid thing to do!!

By law, any bass caught below 36cm has to be returned.

No exceptions!

Kent & Essex Sea Fisheries Committee will be interested to learn of anglers using smaller bass as bait!

The fine could be several thousands of pounds!

It puts me in a difficult position because you can bet my life that I would be complaining to the Chief Fisheries Officer if I was to be told that a commercial fishermen was using undersized bass to bait his pots!
