Pole spray

Some time ago I heard of a spray to build up the wear on joints of poles. Does anyone know of it,and would it work on spigots of fly rods?. Cheers.

Leeda do a spray that sprays liquid graphite that sets within seconds, if you spray it onto the spigots very sparingly and let it dry you can build up worn joints on any rod within 15 minutes

Yes Ive used it too on any type of worn joint.As Brian says the key is to build it up in multiple thin layers.

 

If the wear is extensive it can be quicker though to cut back the female joint by a few millimeters to get a tight fit again.

Or a bit of a cheat we used to do was use the brown packing tape, just wrap 1 width round works wonders and is cheaper

Thanks for all the replies lads, knew about cutting the female joint, but that will be the last resort.
