I have got a few fish out using a drop net without any problem using a heavy controlable net and a second pair of hands, but they were not monsters. The problem will be getting fish to a position to use a dropnet. The boulders at the base of the wall are right near the surface at low tide, in some places their tops dry out so getting the fish ready to net is the issue.

As for the extent of the rocks. the really large boulder only extend a short distance out maybe 10 or 15 yard max. The whole thing is however built over the existing chalk ledges and these go out for some distance, although with great variation.

  • 2 weeks later...

Went sunday, no crane required, just wrasse & pout.

Guy next to me in the purple rompsuit had a gar.

Why people fish straight out the front of the car park

with bolts or old spark plugs for weights i dont know.

12 lb line cast a good 30 yards, fixed wire hard on the bottom

bite a cast....pick up your rod on the first nod and wind like mad
