Any info on fishing Kishorn,can u fish it ,species etc ,

 

often fish Loch Carron round corner !!.

 

So wondering if its worth it

Yep you can, anywhere you can get to shoreline

 

Never fished it myself though, but the fab yard at Kishorn is supposed to be good, Strome is easy access, and there is deep water in close near the avalnche shelter on the south shore of Carron.

Wonderful home, absolutely, but its a long way to cummute to the office in Aberdeen!

 

Sadly the fishing is not so wonderful, there are fish about but they can be hard to find. After the trawlers took most of them the scallop dredgers made sure they didn't come back. There are signs that things are starting to improve though, I caught doggies there for the first time last year

Fished the yard at Kishorn for a few hours last October. All we got was a few mackerel, but it was absolutely miserable weather and blowing a full gale at the time so not too surprising perhaps.

 

Access was easy enough, although I think there were vague "no access" signs about. We just drove through and nobody turned a hair.

 

I have to say that it's a pretty depressing old industrial site - loads of concrete and rusting metal, but there was reasonably deep water about.

 

We were boat fishing mainly, so that was the only spot we tried from the shore (we did get some small pollock and codling to about 4lbs from very close in to the avalanche shelter if thats any help).

Alan, My uncle lives up the road from Pauls Hoose...He says the same, the fishing aint up to much at all. I was trying to get a trip sorted up there, but he told me not to bother fishing !!!!
