Malibu Kayaks?

Big Jeff

Recommended Posts

First post in this section, hello.

During half term was down in Cornwall (Rame Head) and had a first time paddle in a perception kiwi 3, and absolutely loved it. The wife loved it and so did the kids.

Anyway i can now see huge merit in fishing from a yak and am Hooked.

Kiwi 3 is not ideal, and have been doing the normal surfing to bottom what I actualy want.

I should add at this point that at 6'8" and 23 stone I need something stable with a big comfy seat for my rather capatious buttox!!

I have considered the P13 and P15 and think the seat may be a little narrow, and was then heading towards the drifter - I then have on my "surf" stumbled upon the x factor that seems to press a number of important buttons - big pay load, 2 x kids seats (for in frequent use) with the gator hatch, hatchs everywhere, etc.

Anyway are they available in the UK? looked everywhere and Fishyak seemingly no longer do them in the UK.

Am I moving in the right direction or am I mad???

Thank you

Jeff

High Big Jeff and welcome.

Good news they are available in the UK and I know the dealer/Distributer looks at this site so Im guessing there will be a PM heading your way. Sound ideal for you. Never tried one but apparently very spacious and stable. Certainly have a good following down under.

Good hunting but dont forget the other bits like PFD etc.

Again welcome to the mad house.

Welcome BigJeff.

I agree with Darnsarf. Given your size and weight the X Factor could be ideal - other models to look at could include the new Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game, Ocean Kayak Malibu 2 XL and the Cobra Fish 'N Dive.

Which ever model you choose try to paddle or at least sit on one first. Also check availability - it would be a shame to miss part of the season waiting for your kayak to arrive.

Yes I've got mail, but no response regarding the x factor, as to how much they are or even if you can buy them in the UK.

I'm off to Beale Park boat show to have a play in some OK's

Thank you all for the help

Given your size Big Jeff, wouldn't a tug boat do yer instead?

I don't think the above was needed

that's one thing I hate about this site the amount of pi$$ taking there is

have a laugh by all means, but taking the pi$$ is something else

PS have a great weekend guys :sun:

I must go down to the sea again

To the lonely sea and sky

I left my shoes and socks there

I wonder if they're dry?
