I just noticed this pretty cool addin for Firefox. Alows you tu run IE in a Firefox tab. Handy for the web developers amongst you who want to look at your site with both browsers without switching adds, or for using a site that only works properly with IE.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Presumably it's running an embedded instance of IE, and therefore all caveats relating to IE (in)security apply just as much as if it were IE running standalone. So a convenience for avoiding launching a separate IE window.

Absolutely right first time Steve, but if you are a Windows user you should keep IE up to date, even if like me Firefox is your default browser. Many applications use the IE engine, Microsoft Defender, and Nokia Phone Browser are both examples of this type of application. There are many others.

Nice one! Now this is something I will fine extremely useful!! :):):)

Well I thought I would :rolleyes::rolleyes::2::(:( Back to emulating windows then /sigh

Emz, this sounds a bit personal like, but how chunky is your Linux box?
