thats that "lady of the night" again ,you would think for that £50 for 30 seconds work she could afford new ones :D

Theres a new one on Mobiles where a premium 070 number rings once and then hangs up, you check the missed call and many ring back...bingo, attached to a premium line because the 070 number looks at a quick glance like a normal mobile and you are £1.50 down even if you hang up straight away

The problem with this sort of thing is that it causes all sorts of trouble when as like last week I got a genuine call from Halifax concerning a problem with one of my accounts. The bloke calling me wanted to establish exactly who I was before he would discuss anything with me and I of course was starting from the assumption that he was a scammer.

 

It took a full five minutes verbal fencing before we were satisfied that each of us was genuine. The matter was then sorted in thirty seconds flat. I was in the wrong by the way and it could have cost me a few quid more if it had not been resolved there and then. So thanks to Halifax on that one.

 

Barclays seem to be the subject of a major scammer attack at the moment I am getting at least three emails a week warning me of imminent mega reprisals if I do not supply bank details immediately etc. etc. I have never ever banked with them so it is all just bin fodder.
