Pellet waggler fishing

You don't say how you plan to use the float and what your target species will be, so I assume you plan to use it for carp in a commercial heavy stocked water?

Most anglers fishing the pellet waggler employ the tactic of constant feeding trying to bring the fish up of the bottom to feed in the upper layers. It is often associated with fishing during warmer parts of the year and it's generally best to keep casting so your bait matches the stream of pellet falling through the water.

To answer your question regarding striking a bite, most of the time it is not necessary to strike when using a pellet waggler and constant feeding as you are likely to get sail away bites with this method and you just need to lift in to the fish. If your feeding is correct then you are likely to get plenty plenty of knocks on the line or float as the fish compete for the loose feed. It's not a very subtle method and so most anglers will not strike at every dip or movement of the float as they may be tempted to do with other forms of float fishing.

I am note sure if its the right time of the year to get the best from this style of fishing but it may be successful on some waters.

Stephen

Exactly as Phone and Dales have said, winter is perhaps not the best of times to try this tactic.

I've had some really good results with the method during the spring once the water starts warming up and the sun brings the carp up towards the surface.

In regards to striking, you usually don't need to as the takes can be quite amazing....just keep hold of your rod!
