Time for change?

Given that many on here have no interest in securing a positive future for sea angling, or consider those representing our sport unworthy of their consideration and that they are doing such a poor job, what do you all think the way ahead should be. Maybe its time for those representing RSA to step down and let others who can do a much better job in. I'm sure Leon et al would much prefer to be fishing.

There are those who have been extrenmely critical of the way these representatives have taken forward the angling view, are they prepared to step up to the metal.

Doc.

Could you highlight some posts Nigel then we know who and what were talking about.

Scrub that, just been reading around and now see what your talking about.

Quite happy to let someone else do the work if anyone else could be bothered to get off their arse and write a simple letter when required (e.g. response to a consultation) or a letter to the local paper to highlight something, or try and get peoples views on a subject, gather information on a particular subject and present it to whomever but as I can't see anyone else bothering and i wish to make a difference to the fishing which has been the worst year for me ever this year, I have to do it myself.

It comes back the the analogy that If you want something done, do it yourself... :)

Your very much like me in that you have seen better and still like to think that if you keep on trying that big one is just round the corner.

But if you are just starting out it is a different story and after a couple of blanking sessions you kick it into touch.

It is not about us mate it is about the future our grand children and their kids.

Ha ha, love the avatay

Hy guys, my first post, don't try to treat me too gently as i assure you that you will have a robust discussion from me. I am a fanatical boat RSA and fish top, middle and bottom end of the channel, this year i did my first excellant channel isle trip, then found out about the proposels for the RSA by the fisheries department.

Personally, i have sent two letters of objection and also have three letters printed in The Guernsey (you forum) press because i do care about the future of boat angling and i know that a huge ammount of others have done the same. Thanks to Elton for getting me online, i apologise if i have messed up my first post due to any technical detail. Regards Barry

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Guest challenge
Will the audited skippers take the auditors to the fishing grounds or to the desert ?

I cannot speak for John and Michele but if it was me I would take them to where we have been fishing this year. We could show them where we fish, when the last time was we fished there the state of the tide when we fished, the weather conditions the time and date and weather conditions we fished the same mark the previous year and the year before that.

We could give them the names and addresses of the anglers who fished that mark, more or less how much fish they took individually off that mark and weather they re-booked with us again.

We can show them exactly where we steamed every trip this summer what areas we fished and why we fished them areas.

Every mile we steamed is electronically charted and every mile is accounted for.

In fact they don’t have to come to sea with us at all, they just need to come down to the boat and we could give them all the information that they need.

We have nothing to hide. In fact we have been stoned on here for not hiding what we and our anglers at times achieve.

I suppose commercial fishermen have a point, because there is no more effective way of catching fish in a wreck (when conditions are correct) than with a rod and line. You could do more damage to a wreck angling (if you wanted to) than any net fisherman (practically) could hope to. What we need to show commercial fishermen and DEFRA is that we do manage our fishery as best we can.

They would be able to tell from the results that we have done and the fact that this last year has proven our management strategy to be working successfully.

So yes glenk you send them to us.
