Assuming it is Chub or Barbel, what size would you estimate?

Post #6 shows a 4-10 chub scale and a 11-8 barbel scale

 

There is a new penny in both sets of pics, so make with the micrometers and calculators !

 

Note the vertical axis of the scale is slightly greater than the horizontal on the chub, and t'other way round in the barbel

 

I will let y'all make up your own minds.......

Out of interest where about's north of Bedford , I know a few areas that hold some decent size bream. Only going by the tinge of colour on the tips of those scales i wouldn't rule bream out.

Looks a good barbel swim to me
