I want another pair of fisherman socks... like the ones

Hi,

About 30 years ago I bought a pair of fisherman socks in Pulruan or Fowey, I forget which. The socks got holes in a couple of years ago and I miss them. (Yes, I should have darned them.) I have been looking on the internet for a place to buy another pair... and two hours later I'm about to need a knit cap to keep my head warm if I pull out all my hair.

 

Do you know of any place that sells proper fisherman socks?

 

Do they have some name that I'm failing to use? The ones I had were wool and kind of clunky and big... but they were sooooo great.

i usually wear a pair of boot socks i got ages ago they are wool thick n keep my feet toasty on winter evenings also they are a bit longer than normal socks

Got 3 pairs about the same time in the general hardware store in Lerwick, if you're in the area, check 'em out, they could still have them.

I didn't get any notification of an answer, so I thought you all thought I wasn't a serious fisherman and didn't deserve an answer...

 

then I had a tad of computer trouble...

In the meantime I ordered some socks from Montana, that just arrived. They are nice... but they aren't anything like what I had hoped you'd be able to help me find...

Those look to be Amazing socks. I'm going to try to find the old fashioned ones that I had... if I can, though.

 

They were soooooo beautiful!!!!! (because they worked so great and lasted so long.)

I'm getting the impression that lidl is a store you have to go into in order to buy things from it.
