If anyone`s looking to keep warm this winter you could do alot worse than the Wychwood extremis fleece.I`ve bought one a couple of weeks back and can honestly say they keep you warm as toast, almost too warm,I`ve manged to loose a layer of clothing.

Also, take a look at this Tackle Bargains page below:

http://www.click-for-bargains.co.uk/warmth/

I now look after the affiliates side of their business for them and told them that if they wanted to please both their customers AND their affiliates this month, they should get their thermals all listed on the site and discount as much as they could :D

I'll second that - I've got one and it's superb. I got mine as part of the full Extremis outfit (3/4 jacket, bib & brace, fleece and hat) for less than £100, but I notice that some suppliers have recently swopped the fleece jacket for a lighter fleece hoodie when selling as a set. Wonder if that's because they're shifting a lot of the fleece jackets as individual items?

I would be interested to see if the fleece keeps you warm as toast in winter conditions....if we are ever going to see winter conditions again in this country!

You're right, this winter has been very mild so far, apart from some frost earlier in November. But I was wearing my Extremis gear last February 3rd when I was repeatedly clearing ice from the rod rings and didn't once feel cold all day. Another angler had to give up on his lure fishing as his closed-face reel froze and he couldn't cast!

It was a worthwhile day as I had a couple of reasonable chub, but I certainly couldn't have stuck it out with clothing that wasn't up to the job.

Living in the "proper"frozen North and fishing Newcastle to the Borders i`m sure to find out just how effective the fleece will be!! It`s always a top coat colder up here :schmoll:
