I use an old metal filing cabinet for bait etc seems to work. i also put mouse bait under shed. Dont leave rods etc in shed because of giant thieving mice who may break in and take the lot. Bob

Who would you confront about licences? everyone? What would you do if they were not licenced ? I shouldnt think the EA are going to be waiting on the end of a phone with a immigrant rapid response team ready to shoot out and confront anyone. Confronting them on your own is a sure fire way to getting your head dented. I think its down to the fishery to be checking licences of people fishing when they purchase day tickets, or the fishery bailiff to enforce the fisheries rules. Loads of vigilanties wont help fishing in the long run. Bob

Hi, I tried them for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and had bites almost immediately on them. I caught some carp of a local lake. Would like to try them in other lakes now to test them out. I just side hooked them, great to cast with stay on the hook very well. Bob

Float fishing is a definate weakness of mine, i mean why cast in the water if you can cast in a nearby tree, shrub, undergrowth in fact anything near to me. Also my hook tying, i have great sausage like fingers which are not adapted to anything delicate so im always unsure on my hooks, they dont let me down however it just takes ages to tie them. Thick lines im ok on the thinner stuff i struggle. Other weaknesses keep changing baits if im not catching instead of sticking with it. Casting sometimes im good, other times all over the place Im sure this is just a few of my weaknesses and these are just off the top of my head.

I have ground vitalin dog food up in a food processor to use as a groundbait base before, sticks together well, think you could use as a method mix if mixed with hot/warm water, flavours ok too. Had a nice carp the day i used it but that could have been coincidence. Bob

What you need is some carbide, put it in a piece of food when the mouse eats it it explodes lol ( iwfes uncle used to do it with crows ) i know its messy but they dont come back Bob

They need some of the stronger stuff sold to farmers from agricultural dealerships or country stores. That stuff neosorexa or something like that it is called, i used it and it stops rats. other than that a cat, one like mine that kills everything it that scurries. Bob

Hi, Im fairly new here, some lively topics going on. Im like a lot i guess fished a lot in my younger days, sold tackle, got back into it, rebought tackle ( at great expense lol ) go as often as family, house/car repairs allow. I like to fish for all species just enjoy the whole day out. Having a couple of days out this october with a guide to learn more about pike fishing, want to give it a go and want to do it right, have caught pike and handled them ok but still not too sure so decided to learn the basics better. I can read a book but find someone showing to be a better way, learn more that way. Look forward to contributing to the forum and picking up some good tips All the best Bob

I fished Himley a month ago, caught tench around the 3lb mark, crucians to 2lb, roach, perch. What is fishing poorly ? What are you fishing for? i guess carp, if thats so are you in the night syndicate. As also offered the severn is just down the road what more could a guy want, i live away from the severn now and still travel a couple of times a year to fish it.

Himley hall fairly good place to fish only £4.40 for day ticket. Some lovely crucian carp in there, tench, roach, pike, bream, perch, opens at 7am in morn. I caught other day there on worms couple of crucians around 2lb mark, a tench around 3.5lbs and roach and perch. Have fun fishing Bob

Thanks for those numbers. All the phone numbers i found are out of date so you cant get through to bailiff. Why they dont update sites is beyond me. Not only for syndicate no.
