Polarised Sunglasses

Managed to get out for the first time this year and fished in the lake district. I was wondering if anyone can recomend a decent pair of polarised sunglasses at around the £50 price as the ones I have are cheap and nasty. After a day on the water my mark 1 eyeballs were getting very tired.

£50 for some sun glasses is a lot of money ..!

Thing to be aware of is that on long sunny days on the water it is as important to get decent glasses that are both polarised and also to be fully UVA and UVB light resistant ... dont wish to sound sombre but skin cancer doesnt just affect the unprotected skin... it can also affect the eye just as easily. I got skin cancer just under 3 years ago so have leant a lot about it since then.

... just a thought ..!

anyway ..... Glasses like these represent good value for money and are well designed too ....

Thanks for the advice.

I always buy UVA and B rated glasses but I have got the £10 specials from the tackle shop. If we are to have another good summer I wanted to get some better ones.

Thanks alot. Nige.

How much do you value your eyesite ?

I know you can pay up to a couple of hundred pounds for designer glasses , but if you aim a little lower there are a few that are expensive but good value.

For several years i've worn Maui Jim sunglasses , they were recomended by an optician ....i paid £100 pounds, on offer as well !

They are well worth the money though, no more eye strain , headaches etc.

They do many styles at different prices, i have two pairs the originals now come with me to work /driving and the other pair i bought from Sportfish , on offer at half price....they come fishing.

My Wife was allways nicking them because they were lighter than her Kangol ones so i had to buy another pair for her, at least they were still on offer at the time.

I mainly flyfish and alot of people i know , now use them

It's worth getting the best you can afford..and waiting for special deals.

Look a lot like these but a different name. Sea Specs

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

good glasses are so nice. your eyes don't feel as if there on stalks by the end of the day either.

i should imagine you will get a good set of polariods for £50 which have all the protective needs the you'll require. i recon polariods are excellent for spotting fish and you should get a good deal if you check all the online fly fishing shops.

Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time.

Ive used bolle boomslang polarized for years and am now trying to hunt down a new pair.

They have great fish spotting abilities and cut out light from the edge of the frame.

I think you may be able to find a pair of the smoke coloured ones for under £50.

Have to agree that sunglasses will be an important item for those out on the water this summer.
