hartlepool boat fishing last yr

me and my mate went boat fishing last summer from h.pool, been on same boat for over 12 yrs or so, anyway i,ll cut to the chase, skipper got new boat etc you know the score. but thing was skipper was not on board instead he had 3 of his mates skipper the boat that day,

what crap it was i,m not saying we did not catch cause we did but far too many. every drop it was mackral 6 at a time, did not matter what hook size etc they were still getting dragged on board, boatman in charge said go to other side of boat to fish, i was bewilldered why? that would have made no difference, i put on a 8/0 hook but still the same, in the end before i packed in fishing (which i,d had enough by this time as enough is enough) i started shaking my rod to get them back in the sea alive.

in the end i had enough of the mass slaughter as there was 2 other guys sharing our fish tray, there must have been over 200 fish maybe more, so me and my mate took what we wanted which was around 20 each, only to be told by skipper if i did not take any more then there were going over the side of boat, so in end i took what i could carry non got wasted as gave some to brother who fishes all winter rest to family and friends,

but the bottom line was i felt sick at home thinking all thatr waste of fish, would it have been any better going further out? our lass said i cant win cause i moan when i dont catch, but i,d sooner have a day out fishing and blank and enjoyed myself rather than 6 at a time, i,m no longer going on same boat as there must have been something skipper could have done like move further offshore i could be wrong though

Hi Iggy,

Sometimes, when mackerel are about, you cannot get away from them, no matter where you go.

With all due respect, the reason you were catching six mackerel at a time is because you had six (or more) hooks on. You could have put one hook on and only been able to catch one at a time.

In the case of jigging, a plain lure (on its own, with no decoration whatsoever) sometimes goes through the mackerel and down to the bottom, where you stand a chance of catching something else. But then, the skipper (or person in charge, in your case) should have told you that.

In addition Iggy down south,i would have looked at it as an opportunity to send down either a makerel flapper or a live makerel with a treble hook. conger eel or bass.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
