yak trolley

Last week i bought a new trolley for the yak after hating those long trips up the beach when the tide was at low water. I chose the more expensive type g tug. I have now thought of an idea to make things even easier. My father had an old mountfield 4hp lawnmower. I am now in the process of dismantling the engine to attach to the trolley . I am then going to purchase another set of wheels which will enable me to drive my yak instead of having to lift it on to the roofrack... Would i need to tax and insure it.Any comments??????

I reckon the speed you can paddle :notworthy: , your momentum when you land should take you quite some distance :headhurt: and if you had some permanent wheels attached you wouldn't need the motor

don't know about tax or insurance though :schmoll:

you should get together with Chezz from A.N.--he's also got some great ideas

for the purposes of tax and insurance the law states a mechanically propelled vehicle used or adapted for use on a road. the meaning of road is anywhere where the public have access.... um i think the yak would therefore fall into this catagory....
