Anyone fished this venue ( update )

Caistron is a great place to fish, there is allot of weed in places but plenty of fish, it was very bright so bead headed buzzers and lures worked well, as well as the rainbows I took a blue ( first one )

 

Kielder is so big we should have had a boat, as it was we struggled on the bank, again a very sunny day the fish must have been way out in deep water. Maybe if we had stayed until the sun dropped a little we would had better success lesson learned and excuses made.

At least you've had a chance to catch fish,

 

I've rarely fished very large waters, but unless you can get into the depths, waiting to evening when the heat of the sun has gone, can be the only reliable method.

whatever you do, DON'T stop at Kielder until dusk - you will be eaten alive by the midgies and the fishing is not that good anyway. Believe me, I've tried it and I will NEVER do it again!
