Pretty sure I'm getting this reel as my first propper multi but I'm hoping ye can answer a question or two for me please.

I understand that the 7HT is most at home when used as a clean beach reel. Is it suitable to use it on a relatively clean beach with a few snags and over fairly mixed ground? My normal venue would be a shingle beach with a few patches of rougher ground, is the 7HT ok for here or is it exclusively for pure sand?

The 7HT is a super reel for clean to mixed ground. If you want a rough ground 7HT get the 7HT Turbo as the gears and shaft have been 'beefed up'. It still casts superbly but is more rugged. It will also now take a power handle if you feel the need for one.

Cant see you having any problems at all for the type of ground you mention. If its all kelp and rocks and ledges forget it. A few pebbles on the beach will be just fine

Thanks for that, it puts my mind at ease knowing it can handle mixed ground.
